When the four BAF pilots jumped into the Bay of Bengal to save themselves after two training jets crashed over Maheshkhali, two local siblings sacrificed their fishing net, their only means of earning, in rescuing them on Wednesday, reports UNB. The two siblings are Kamal Pasha, 30, and Mohammad Mubin, 20, sons of Nurul Haque from Ghonar Para area of Maheshkhali municipality in Cox's Bazar.
BAF Squadron Leader Arman told UNB that Kamal and Mubin were the first ones to come forward to rescue the pilots after they jumped out of their jets using parachutes.
Mentioning that the two brothers' shared mobile was a great help, Flight Lieutenant Iftekhar said that it would have been tough to find the pilots if the two brothers didn't rush to rescue them.
Meanwhile Kamal and Mubin said while they were fishing in the sea on their boat around 6pm, they saw something falling down from the sky.
"We rescued Wing Commander Azim from the sea shore and he immediately called his wife using our phone," said Kamal.
