Amol to face Dipu in men’s singles final

Title aspirants Amol Roy of Engineers Recreation Centre stormed into the men’s singles final of men’s singles event of Runner Victory Day Tennis Tournament.  Amol had to fight hard to down Ranjan Ram 6-4, 1-6, 7-5 in the semifinal at the National Tennis Complex in the capital yesterday.

Amol will face Dipu Lal of Daras Bangladesh who beat Milon Hossain of Narsingdi Club in the other semifinal.

The women’s singles final will be played between Afrana Islam Preety of Narsingdi Club and Ishita Afroze of BKSP. Preety eliminated  Zerin Sultana Joly of BKSP 6-2, 2-6, 6-2. Ishita outplayed  Fabiah Lasima Suchona of NTC 6-2, 6-1 in the other semifinal.

Zerin Sultna, however, moved into the girls singles U-14 final beating  Mashfia Afrin of Brahmanbaria 85- in the semifinal.  Rinvi Akhet of BKSP defeated Sraboni Biswas Jui of  Elite Tennis Academy 8-0 in the other semifinal.
