The government has upgraded textile directorate under the Textile and Jute Ministry as textile department for further development, extension and expansion of the country’s textile industries, reports BSS. To this effect, the public administration ministry has created 83 new posts for the textile department including one post for director general and three for directors, said an official release. Besides, three new branch offices of the new department will be opened in Narayanganj, Gazipur and Narsingdi districts. According to the release, it is expected that the new department would bring dynamism in activities of the textile sector and create skilled manpower.
