The High Court yesterday exempted Biroda Rani, Assistant Commissioner (land) of Bhurungamari upazila in Kurigram, from the charges for sentencing a lawyer through mobile court on December 12, reports UNB. The court freed Biroda Rani after she filed an affidavit offering unconditional apology for her controversial role. The High Court (HC) bench of Justice Md Habibul Gani and Justice Kamrul Kader passed the order. On December 17, the HC's vacation bench summoned the AC-land to appear before it on December 27 to explain her role in the incident.
