All flight operations were suspended at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) for more than five hours from 5am to 10.15 am this morning, reports BSS. “This morning, again we were forced to suspend flight operation due to the dense fog from 5 am," CAAB spokesperson AKM Rezaul Karim said. He said the flight operation was resumed at 10.15 am. During the period, one US-Bangla airlines and one Regent Airways flights from Kualalumpur were diverted to Chittagong while an Air Arabiya flight, scheduled to land at 9am, could not land until 10.15 am at HSIA.
Besides, departing international flights of Biman Bangladesh Airlines and Regent Airways to Kolkata departed delayed after 10.15 am this morning, Karim said.
Apart from international flights, numbers of early morning domestic flights of Biman Bangladesh airlines, Novo Air, US-Bangla Airlines and Regent airways were delayed due to dense fog. The flight operations are being disrupted at HSIA in last couple of weeks due to heavy fog.
