Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has extended its free primary health service for a month, reports BSS.
“Residents of areas under the DSCC will be able to receive free medical treatments and medicines for one more month, just by dialing a hotline. The service has been extended due to severity of winter," DSCC public relations officer Uttam Kumer Rai told BSS.
The door-to-door health service was launched for a fortnight from November 28 to help people suffering from cold, breathing difficulties and winter flu. Under the programme, doctors will visit people's homes to treat patients and provide medicines for free once people call for health services using the hotline -- 09611000999.
Till now, the call center received a total of 38,988 calls and 9,208 residents received free treatment at their homes.
