As the industries ministry has planned to set up office of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) in every district, industries secretary Mohammad Abdullah has asked officials concerned to send a standard setup of manpower to the ministry by February next year, reports BSS.
"BSTI will have to set up its office in every district to ensure standard products and services for the people," he told a review meeting of the implementation progress of the ministry's part of the Annual Development Programme (ADB) for the current fiscal year (FY18) in the capital yesterday.
The meeting was informed that under the industries ministry there are 43 development projects investing an estimated cost of Tk 1,376.78 crore and of the total projects, 39 are investment, 3 technical and one will be implemented with the own finance of the ministry. Of the total Tk 1,376.78 crore, the government will provide Tk 1,320.38 crore, Tk 6.40 crore will come as project assistance while Tk 50 crore from the organization's own fund.
