V-Day Tennis gets underway

Runner Group Victory Day Tennis Tournament organized by Bangladesh Tennis Federation (BTF)  got underway at the National Tennis Complex in the capital yesterday.

Runner Group has been sponsoring the highest ever prize money in domestic circuit. A total of Taka 2.95 will be distributed among the winners of different events.  A total of 250 players of different age group from 23 clubs and organisations are participating in the tournament.

Lt Col (retd) Nazrul Islam, state minister for water resources, inaugurated the tournament as chief guest. BTF president Md Shahriar Alam, who is also the state minister for foreign affairs, presided over the opening ceremony. Hafizur Rahman, chairman of Runner Group was present as special guest.
