A 15-day contemporary printmaking art exhibition of 65 Indian artists will begin today at Gallery-6 in National Gallery of Art of Bangladesh Shilapakala Academy (BSA), reports UNB. The Shilpakala Academy will organise the exhibition in collaboration with the cultural affairs ministry of Bangladesh starting from December 25 this year to January 4, 2018.
Prime Minister's political advisor HT Imam will inaugurate the exhibition as the chief guest at the auditorium of the National Art Gallery while BSA Director General Liaquat Ali Lucky will preside over the opening ceremony.
Director General of National Gallery of Modern Art of India sculptor Adwaita Gadanayak, and prominent artist Monirul Islam will also be present in the inaugural ceremony while BSA Director of Fine Art Department Moniruzzaman will deliver the welcome speech.
The organisers said that every artist will provide a painting permanently for the preservation of national paintings in Bangladesh which will enrich the collection of national paintings of Bangladesh at the end of the exhibition.
One of the organisers said, "It is a matter of pride for us that five Indian artists who have played a vital role in the Indian printmaking industry will be present in this event. The artists are - Anandanay Banerjee, Dattatreya Apte, Poet Nayar, Moti Jarotia and Sushant Guha.
