The British Council in Dhaka arranged a young learners’ art competition on Thursday at its office on Dhaka University campus, says a press release. The theme of the competition was ‘Every Vision Counts’. The aim was to raise awareness on blindness and vision impairment. Young Learners’ from all over Bangladesh took part in the art competition. Around 1000 children (aged between 4 -14) took part in the competition. Among them, 30 winners were selected and awarded certificates and prizes in the ceremony.
The British Council in partnership with Standard Chartered bank hosted the art competition. The ceremony began with the welcome speech from Sarwat Reza, Head of Cultural Centre, British Council followed by the speech from Ln. Shakhawat Hossain, Chief Advisor, Lions Club Motijheel Royal.
There was a voluntary eye camp for all the guests supported by Lions Club Bangladesh.
