IU waiting lists candidates’ viva-voce from Jan 10
Kushtia: The viva-voce of the admission seekers of the waiting lists to admit into first year honours courses under 2017-18 academic session of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia will start on January 10.
IU acting registrar SM Abdul Latif on Sunday said the viva-voice will be held at the respective units' faculty at 9 am. A total of 706 seats are still vacant at different departments under different faculties of the university. IU Science Faculty gets new dean
Kushtia: Dr M Momtazul Islam, professor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering department has been appointed as the dean of Applied Sciences and Technology Faculty of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia.
Momtazul Islam was replaced by Professor Dr M Shamsul Alam of Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering department of the university, sources at IU registrar office said on Sunday morning. IU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari appointed Momtazul to the post for the next two years, said IU acting registrar SM Abdul Latif.
Annual cultural programme held
The annual cultural programme and prize distribution ceremony was held at Milestone College English version senior section on Tuesday, says a press release.
Former teacher of Milestone College and now additional district magistrate, Jassore – KM Mamun Uzzaman was the chief guest in the ceremony. Administrative principal of Milestone College Lt Colonel M Kamaluddin Bhuiyan (retd), Vice principal of English version senior section Colonel Safar Ali Molla (retd), Vice Principal of Bangla medium senior section Prof Md Ashraf Husain, Administrative and academic director Rifat Nabi Alam and Milestone College's administrative director Masud Alam were present as honourable guest. The chief guest KM Mamun Uzzaman distributed crests and prizes among the winners in the ceremony. At the end of the ceremony a cultural function was organised by the students.
JUDO gets new executive body
SAVAR: Jahangirnagar University Debate Organisation (JUDO), the central debate organisation of the university, announced a 20-member new executive body for the next one year.
Musfiq-Us Salehin of Economics and Foysal Mahmud Shanto of Philosophy department were made President and General Secretary respectively, said a release.
Former JUDO President Shaheen Reza announced the new executive body at the concluding session of 13th founding anniversary celebration programme held at Selim Al Din muktamancha on Saturday night, the release added.
