Barguna: Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard in a drive rescued two deer and seized around 200kg venison from Badurtola area of Patharghata upazila early yesterday, reports UNB. Tipped off, a team of Coast Guard conducted drive in the area adjacent to Bishkhali River around 3:30am and challenged a trawler, said Lieutenant F A Rouf, station commander of Patharghata. Sensing the presence of the Coast Guard members the poachers fled the scene.
Later, the team seized the trawler from which they rescued two deer and recovered around the 200kg venison. The rescued deer were handed over to Patharghata Forest Department.
