Three murder accused held with bombs

Police arrested three persons, accused in the Awami League activist Rabiul Islam murder case, with 11 crude bombs and machetes in Shibganj upazila yesterday. The arrested persons have been identified as Saiful, 30, Tosiqul, 23, and Shukurdi, 35, of Mordana village under Shibganj municipality. Officer-in-Charge of Shibganj police Moinul Islam said police held the trio with the crude bombs and a large number of machetes and knives during a raid at Dhorbona village at around 4.45 am. Former councilor and Awami League activist Rabiul Islam, 27, was attacked and critically injured on August 15 at around 11-30 am when he was working in his field. He died at a hospital in the afternoon.
