Favourites BJMC clinched the Exim Bank 28th National Women’s Handball title defeating Bangladesh Ansar 32-21 in the final at Shaheed M Monsur Ali Handball Stadium in the capital yesterday. The winners led the first half 17-10.
Dalia Akhter with nine goals was the top scorer for BJMC. Ismat Ara netted eight goals for Ansar. Dalia was adjudged the best player of the tournament.
Earlier Police clinched the third spot with a convincing 22-13 win over Panchagrah DSA in the third-fourth play-off.
Exim Bank director Nurul Amin Faruque handed over prizes as chief guest. Bangladesh Handball Federation president Nurul Fazal Bulbul and general secretary Asaduzzaman Kohinoor were also present during the closing ceremony.
