A woman and her 12-year-old daughter were killed in a fatal road accident in front of East-West Medical College Hospital on the Ashulia Beribadh road on Friday night, reports BSS.
The deceased were identified as Jasmin Akther, 40, wife of Md Fakhruddin Kabir and their daughter Saba Moni. They used to live a rented house in Ashulia of Savar thana, Turag Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Nurul Muthakin said.
The accident occurred when a covered van hit Jasmin and Saba in the area, leaving them killed on the spot.
Police seized the vehicle. But the driver managed to escape, Nurul said.
BSS adds from Chittagong: An elderly former school teacher died after falling from the rooftop of a three-storied building in the city on Friday morning.
The victim was identified as Mukter Ahmed, a former senior teacher of Bakalia Government High School.
