The day belonged to Anamul Haque Bijoy, who clattered another scintillating double hundred within three months, gave a sort reminder to the selectors ahead of the upcoming back-to-back series at home turf. Tier-1 leaders Khulna Division, who are on way to defend the title, declared their first innings at 459 for 8 against Dhaka Division just after the completion of the Bijoy’s double century that virtually gave them a 346-run lead.
As soon as adding nine runs with his overnight 168, Mahadi Hasan trudged back to the pavilion with 177. But Bijoy did not forget to complete his second feat in three months. The wicketkeeper-batsman, who was out of the national team for many days, had played with aplomb and smashed his double ton in the current NCL resuming at 167.

Resuming the third day at 101, Nasir lambasted on Barisal bowlers at his sheer will and brought up his credible double hundred what later surpassed his previous best of 201. The all-rounder, who was in sublime form handed DPL title to Gazi Group Cricketers before the BPL, walloped 29 fours and three sixes in his unbeaten 467-ball 270.
After Rangpur mustered 185 for four, Nasir in tandem with Ariful Haque cracked 368 runs for the fifth wicket partnership that gave them a healthy lead following Barisal Division’s first innings total of 335. They finally posted 570 for five with Nasir scoring 270 and Dhiman Ghosh five.
Riding on Nazmul Hossain Shanto’s 194 and Mizanur Rahman’s 175, Rajshahi Division took a 132-run lead against Dhaka Metro, the Tier-2 match at the Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi, which drifted towards draw.
Rajshahi Division compiled 460 for five at the close of the day third in their first innings in response to Dhaka Metro’s 328.
After Minzamur Rahman fell for 175, Shanto followed his suits as he fell short of six runs for his double century. The young batsman clubbed 21 fours in his 296-ball 194 before being caught.
Mushfiqur Rahim, on three, and Jahurul Islam, on just one, were at stumps.
Elsewhere at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Chittagong Division sniffed the taste of their first victory as they took the command of the Tier-2 match against the hosts Sylhet Division.
Half-centuries by Sadikur Rahman, Jashim and Sayeed Sarkar, Yasir Ali struck an unbeaten hundred that piloted Chittagong to a 243-run lead. Yasir decorated his hundred with seven fours and one six in his 286-minute stay at wickets.
After being skittled out for a paltry 137, Sylhet Division scored 78 at the cost of the two wickets.
