Digitisation speeded up Bangabandhus policy implementation

BSS

For rebuilding Bangladesh after the independence, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman worked out a complete roadmap combining economic and social development policies with primary focus on ensuring the highest benefit for poor, said Dr Mohammad Farashuddin, reports BSS. “The tasks, however, had remained largely unfinished for years until his daughter, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, forms a government and incorporates ICT (information communication technology) to implement Bangabandhu’s policy for achieving pro-poor growth and alleviating poverty,” he said.
The economist, who was a private secretary to Bangabandhu, told the news agency that the Father of the Nation placed emphasis on benefiting poor people, and advised his policymakers and associated economists to equip the economic and development policies with enough and effective measures for inclusive economic growth.
Dr Farashuddin said the present government under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina has not only been following the same path, but has also expedited the policy implementation process through its vision for digital Bangladesh.
“Initially, some people were cynical about the vision of the digitization, but skepticism has already been proved wrong, with people across the country getting benefit of the process,” the economist said.
Portraying the economic philosophy of the Father of the Nation, Dr Farashuddin said Bangabandhu believed in a society of equality, with ensuring economic and social freedom of masses.
