The parliamentary standing committee on Social Welfare Ministry yesterday recommended taking of necessary measures in building houses for the deprived tea garden workers, reports BSS. In its 12th meeting at Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban with President M Mozammel Hossain in the chair, the committee also put emphasis on taking rehabilitation programmes for the acid-burn victims and disables. It also suggested measures for social and economic developments of the dalit, harijon, bede, lower cast people and the residents of enclaves (chhitmahals). They have decided to pay visit to the tea gardens to see overall condition of the tea garden workers.
