End to women, children repression demanded

Bangladesh Nari Mukti Sangsad (BNMS), an women rights organisations, yesterday demanded an end to sorts of repression and attacks on children, women, writers, intellectual and free thinkers, reports UNB.
The demand came from a human chain formed in front of Jatiya Press Club in the capital. BNMS general secretary Saleha Sultana, BNMS Dhaka City Unit convener Sheuli Akhter, among others, spoke on the occasion with it’s President Hajera Sultana MP in the chair.
Speakers expressed deep concern over the ongoing incidents of repression on children, women and killing of free thinkers. Speaking on the occasion Hajera Sultana MP said recently violence on women and children has increased at an alarming rate. “If we can’t stop it right now and fail to take necessary steps to curb violence against women and children and killings of free-thinkers Bangladesh will suffer from an image crisis,” she said.
