Farashganj Sorting Club in their bid to avoid relegation in the Saif Power Battery Bangladesh Premier League football defeated Rahamtganj MFS by 3-0 yesterday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
After winning the match Farashganj equalled their points tally with Rahmatganj obtaining 13 points from 18 matches while both the sides have four matches in hands to fight for getting out of relegation.
After a goalless first half, Minhajul Ballu stunned the Rahmatganj defenders when he fired home a free kick from the penalty arch to lead Farashganj on 58th minute.
Trailing by a goal Rahmatganj worked hard to come back and also put Farashganj under pressure but despite going very closer to equalise the margin failed to utilize the opportunity when Mohammed Sohel kicked the ball over the cross bar being unmarked inside the area.
Farashganj getting rid of the threat doubled their margin on 72nd minute and this time Johir Mallick superbly dodged past two defenders inside the area before set a cross for onrushing Mathew who just pushed the ball into near post (2-0).
Mahmudul Biswas Munna sealed the victory with scoring the goal having a cross from Mathew in the penalty area and beat the Rahmatganj keeper without any trouble (3-0).
