A team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-11 has arrested two alleged members of banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from the capital's Saidabad area, reports BSS. The arrestees - Md Mizanur Rahman, 37, and Ibrahim Khalil alias Shahjahan, 30, - were wanted in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act with Bandar Police Station in Narayanganj.
“Being tipped-off, we raided the area (Saidabad) and arrested them from in front of Saidabad Super Market at around 8.30 pm on Tuesday. We recovered leaflets and jihadi books from their possessions," RAB-11 commanding officer (CO) Lieutenant Colonel Md Kamrul Hasan said yesterday. The Rab official said they are now interrogating the two arrestees.
2 ‘ABT men’ held in N’ganj
UNB adds from Narayanganj: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive arrested two suspected members of Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) from Ikbardi in Araihazar upazila on Monday night, reports UNB.
The arrestees were identified as Jahidul Islam alias Kawsar, 32, hailing from Chauddagram upazila of Comilla district and M Moshiur Rahman alias Jibon, 28, a resident of Gaibandha sadar upazila.
