Retd army man killed by robbers

A retired army  man was killed by robbers in Tangail early yesterday. The deceased was Ramjan Ali, 55, of village Ishapur in Kalihati upazila of Tangail district.  
Officer-in-charge of Kalihati police station Shahidul Islam quoting locals said armed robbers numbering 12/15 entered the house of Ramjan Ali by cutting window grills and tried to commit robbery.
They stabbed Ramjan Ali as he tried to resist them, the OC added.They looted a motorcycle, gold ornaments and Tk 10 lakh in cash and escaped the scene. The OC said a case was lodged with Kalihati police station. .
