Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra tasted their sixth win after defeating lowly Farashganj Sporting Club by 2-0 in the Saif Power Battery Bangladesh Premier League football yesterday at the Bangabandu National Stadium.

Russel, who initially projected a high hope to fight for the title and also made a convincing start in the league with a 3-0 victory over Muktijoddha but could not keep up the momentum, as in the next match shared points with Brothers Union with a goalless draw and then started their bad-patch with conceding three defeats at a stretch to Sheikh Jamal, Abahani Limited and Chittagong Abahani.

 Rest of the history of Russel was only struggling to survive with managing only five wins, as many draws and suffered six defeats before this match.

However, on the day, it was a battle for Russel to lift up the position from six and for Farashganj to dredge up the way of surviving from the relegation threat when they are the most bottom side in the point table with 10 and Muktijoddha are just a point ahead of them.
