96 promoted to SP

The government has promoted a total of 96 additional superintendents of police to superintendent of police (SPs), according to a notice issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs yesterday.

According to the notification signed by its Deputy Secretary Ilias Hossain, the order will come into immediate effect.

According to the notice, the officials have been promoted to the fifth pay grade through the upgradation.

Three of them are currently serving as acting superintendents of police. They are Police Staff College’s Iqbal Hossain, Dhaka Range Office’s Abul Bashar Talukder and Abdul Mannan Miah of National Telecommunication Monitoring Centre.
