The 12th edition of ‘Dhaka University Central Annual Theatre Festival’, organised by Theatre and Performance Studies Department of Dhaka University (DU), is underway at the TSC (Teachers' and Students' Centre) Auditorium of DU. Beginning on Monday, the eight-day theatre festival will be continued till December 18, and the plays are being staged everyday from 6pm at the venue. Today, two plays will be staged on the third day of the festival. Syed Waliullah’s play ‘Ujane Mrityo’, directed by Sajib Rana, will be staged at 6pm. The cast of the play includes Sanjidul Islam, Fariz Khan and Debashish Kumar Dey Prashanta. Later in the evening, August Strindberg’s play ‘Miss Julie’ will be staged at the same venue. Translated by Meher Kabir, the play is directed by Abdullah Al Jabir. The cast of the play includes Kamrunnahar Munni, Wazed Hamshi Dhruba and Mohna Hossain. To note, a total of 17 plays has been scheduled to be staged during the festival.
