Speakers at a workshop in the capital yesterday said the Centre of Excellence for Bangladesh Apparel Industry (CEBAI) needs to focus more on research for the RMG workers’ skill development to unlock the potentials of the country’s apparel sector, reports UNB.
They also said the CEBAI should maintain its current role in helping the sector remain on top of the world’s RMG exporters.
“There’s a strong need for research that will guide the development of the industry. Looking forward, CEBAI should continue to play its key role in meeting both these requirements,” said president of, Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) Siddiqur Rahman.
The workshop on CEBAI’s contribution towards enhancing skills in the RMG industry was held at the BGMEA Apparel Club in the capital.
