Candidates for the Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) election have only seven more days to carry out door-to-door campaign. The election is scheduled to be held on December 21. All candidates, including those fighting for the mayor's post, are going through a hectic schedule. Each of them is moving from house to house in his or her ward, seeking votes by telling people what they would do for the city if elected. While campaigning yesterday (Tuesday), Awami League candidate Sarfuddin Ahmed Jhantu said there is no alternative to the "boat", the ruling party's symbol, for the development of Rangpur. He said opportunities will open up for people if he is elected. “It is the right time for people to cast their votes for the 'boat' to pave the path of development.”
