Customs, Excise and VAT Commissionerate, Dhaka (East) collected Tk 529.54 crore revenue during the July-October period of the current fiscal year (2017-18), up Tk 11 crore against the target of Tk 518.54 crore, reports BSS.
“We’ve a target to collect a total of Tk 2,103 crore in fiscal year 2017-18 and during the July-October period the commissionerate has collected Tk 529.54 crore. I hope that we would be able to exceed the target of the fiscal year,” said zone commissioner Md Zamal Hossain while exchanging views with members of Economic Reporters Forum (ERF) yesterday.
Hossain said there was one type of fear among people about tax but the situation has been changed and tax administration is now under a changing process. He sought cooperation from the mass media to raise awareness among the people about tax.
