When asked about his realisation about life at this age, Mustafa Zaman Abbasi answered, “On this day, I am really thinking of one particularly, whom I would meet after my death. I have done a lot of things in my life; I have written and sung songs, playfully made fun and many more. But everything will come to an end now. So, before the end of everything, I am just thinking of almighty Allah. I pray to see my father in the afterlife”.

He specialises in Bhawaiya music (a folk musical form). He has published more than fifty books. His notable books include ‘Abbasuddin Ahmed, Manush o Shilpi’, ‘Kazi Nazrul Islam, Man and Poet’ and ‘Puribo Ekaki’. Abbasi is the youngest son of legendary folk singer-composer Abbas Uddin Ahmed. l
