Title aspirants Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club dropped crucial points in the Saif Power Battery Premier Football League after a struggling 1-1 draw with Rahmatganj MFS yesterday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
It was a bright chance for Jamal to join the league leaders Chittagong Abahani if they could win the match but after working hard throughout 90 minutes time and also playing with almost full dominance failed to grab the opportunity, as they are remain on second position with 34, two points behind to the table toppers.
Dawda Ceesay opened the scoring blitz on 27th minute with a solo effort when it was almost a gifted ball nearer to the mid-circle at the Jamal ends and the Gambian play- maker stunned the Jamal defenders snatching the ball.
This time Yasin looked a bit relaxed mood to give a pass to Omar Faruque Babu but Dawda Ceesay was very sharp to take possession before the ball reaching to Babu and made a super sprint with the ball and chased all of his markers to find the hapless keeper before placing the ball into far post (1-0).
Jamal despite playing with almost full authority failed to open any space to test the goalkeeper for once in the first half.
Trailing by a goal Jamal became more offensive and also quizzed the Rahmatganj with enormous pressure but the solid defense line led by Nazimuddin Mithu blocked the all the strong attacks and when the match was heading to Rahmatganj obtaining upsetting win Solomon King just salvaged the title aspirants.
After a series of attacks Jamal earned a free kick inside the penalty-arch and Solomon King’s blasted his pin-pointed right footer over the Rahmatganj defense wall just two minutes before the scheduled 90 minutes game (1-1).
