Jessore: BNP Chairperson's adviser Mashiur Rahman, who was sentenced to 10-year imprisonment in a graft case, was hospitalised under custody here on Tuesday as he fell ill, reports UNB.
Mashiur, also a former MP and Jhenidah BNP president, was taken to Jessore General Hospital from the Jessore Central Jail around noon after he complained of chest pain, said jailer Abu Taleb. He said the BNP leader was admitted to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of the hospital as referred by jail physician Dr Tawhidur Rahman.
On October 25 last, a special court of Jhenidah sentenced the BNP leader to 10 years imprisonment in the case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) for concealing information in wealth statement and amassing illegal wealth.
