Chandpur: A cement-laden trawler sank in the confluence of the Meghna, Padma and Dakatia rivers near at Chandpur launch terminal after Dhaka-bound launch MV Green Line-3 hit it on Monday evening, reports UNB.
Jalaluddin Sarker, sales executive of Bashundhara Cement in Chandpur territory, told UNB that the trawler, carrying 2,000 bags of cement, was heading to Chandpur from Madanganj Cement Factory in Narayanganj.
The speeding MV Green Line-3 launch hit the trawler and it capsized in the confluence of the Meghna, Padma and Dakatia rivers, he said.
Md Abul Hashem, officer-in-charge of Chandpur River Police Station, said a general diary (GD) was filed in this connection.
