JMB man held in capital

Police arrested an operative of the banned militant outfit Jma'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from the capital’s Sabujbagh area, reports BSS. “Counter terrorism unit of the police arrested Md Nur Azam Siddique alias Yasir, 38, for his link to the JMB from Basabo Balurmath area under Sabujbagh Police Station around 4.30am yesterday,” said deputy commissioner (DC) Masudur Rahman. One laptop, one mobile phone set and fanatic leaflets have been seized from his possession, he also said. The arrestee has long been involved in recruiting new members for the militant organization, he said, adding that he has a plan to carry out large scale attack across the country, especially in the capital city.
