Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) yesterday conducted drive against illegal banners, signboards and festoons under its jurisdiction and fined Taka one lakh to two business houses, reports BSS. Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Executive Magistrate M Sajid Anwar led a mobile court during the drive. The mobile court fined Tk 50,000 to Haque Industries and Tk 50,000 to Jhatrik Foundation for sticking posters on walls, which gives the capital odd looking. The DNCC conducted the drive as part of its programme to make the city clean and beautiful.
During the drive, chief waste management officer of DNCC Commodore Abdur Razzak and additional chief waste management officer Lieutenant Colonel Selim Mahmood were present. The drive will continue against illegal posters, festoons, banners and graffiti, sources said.
