Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Iyad Ameen Madani, arrives here today on a three-day official visit with an aim to strengthen cooperation between Bangladesh and the organisation, reports UNB.
Madani took office as the tenth Secretary General of the OIC on January 1, 2014. This is going to be Madani's second visit to Bangladesh as he came here on a four-day visit on March 8 last year, Foreign Ministry officials said. He is likely to meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and discuss about the latest situation of Islamic world. The OIC Secretary General will hold meetings with Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali and Foreign Secretary M Shahidul Haque at their offices during his visit. The issues of the Muslim world, including peace, security and development, might come up for discussion.
