Police in a drive arrested the prime accused in the BNP leader Shamim murder case from Dhulia Paner Bazar in Baufal upazila on Thursda, reports UNB from Patuakhali.
The arrestee was identified as Noman. Tipped off, a team of police led by sub-inspector Humayun of Baufal Police Station, conducted a drive in the area and arrested Noman for his alleged involvement in the killing of a local BNP leader on Thursday noon.
AJM Masuduzzaman, officer-in-charge of Baufal Police Station, said Shamim, joint convener of Keshabpur union unit BNP, was stabbed to death allegedly by Noman over a family feud at Choumohoni Bazar in Keshabpur union on Wednesday.
