Nilphamari
Rail communications of the district with rest of the country, including the capital, resumed yesterday afternoon, after around nine hours of suspension following the derailment of a train in the district town, reports UNB from Nilphamari.
Station master of Nilphamari Railway Station Obaidul Islam Ratan said six wheels of the locomotive of intercity train ‘Barendra Express’ veered off the tracks near Cheta Shah level crossing in the town around 4:30am after a tree fell on the engine.
The derailment halted train communications on Rajshahi-Dhaka route.
However, no one was injured in the accident. On information, a relief train rushed to the spot and cleared the line.
