‘The Man from U.N.C.L.E.’ a British-American action comedy spy film directed by Guy Ritchie and co-written by Lionel Wigram and Ritchie, is being screened from Friday at country’s two pioneer multiplex--Star Cineplex in Basundhara City and Blockbuster in Jamuna Future Park. Based on the 1964 MGM television series of the same name created by Sam Rolfe, the film was released on August 14, this year.
In the early 1960s, CIA agent Napoleon Solo and KGB operative Illya Kuryakin participate in a joint mission against a mysterious criminal organization, which is working to proliferate nuclear weapons.
The film casts Henry Cavill as Napoleon Solo, Armie Hammer as Illya Kuryakin, Alicia Vikander as Gabby Teller, Elizabeth Debicki, Jared Harris, Hugh Grant and others.
As of August 17, 2015, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. has grossed $14.8 million in North America and $12.1 million in other territories for a worldwide total of $26.9 million, against a budget of $75 million.
