CHITTAGONG: A worker died in workplace accident in Madunaghat area of Hathazari upazila of the city yesterday. The deceased was Mohammad Manik, 20, hailed from Purbadhala upazila of Netrokona district. Pankaj Barua, Nayak, Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) police outpost, told The Independent that the accident took place yesterday when a piling pipe fell on Manik during piling of an under-construction building of PL Limited, a sub-contractor of the project. He was rushed to the CMCH in critical condition. Later, he was declared dead at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, added Pankaj.
