A minor girl drowned in a pit filled with rainwater near her house on the Kathalbagan-Kalabagan Road in the capital’s Kathalbagan area yesterday, reports UNB. The deceased was Meem Akter, 7, daughter of Ismail Hossain, a tea seller and a resident of the area. Quoting Mizanur Rahman, paternal uncle of the deceased, Dhaka Medical College Hospital sources said Meem went out of her house around 7:45 am and fell into a pit adjacent to her house, where rainwater gathered, and drowned.
