Indira Gandhi Culture Centre (IGCC) is organising an evening of classical Hindustani vocal music by Music Department of Rajshahi University (RU) at its Gulshan premises today at 6:30 pm. Dr. Asit Roy, Associate Professor and Chairman, Department of Music, RU, along with his colleagues and students will give the performance. Dr. Asit Roy and Sholock Hossain, Lecturer, will give a Dhrupad presentation while Alamgir Parvez, Lecturer, will present a Khayal and Shaila Tasmeen, Assistant Professor, will sing a semi-classical piece. Their students, Yusuf Imam, Bulbul Islam, Pias Kumar, Moushumi Biswas, Anamika Sarker and Arpita Chakraberty will come up with chorus presentations of Dhrupad, Khayal and Tarana.
