Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader yesterday urged all to follow the ideals of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, reports BSS. "We should know and flow the ideology of Bangabandhu...His honesty and bravery give us inspiration to go forward," Quader said, speaking at a seminar held at the Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) auditorium here. AL Information and Research Sub-Committee organized the seminar 'March 7: Aloker Jhornadhara' as the UNESCO recognised Bangabandhu's historic March 7 speech as a world documentary heritage.
The daily Samokal editor Golam Sarwar presents a keynote paper in the seminar with AL Information and Research Sub Committee Chairman Professor Dr Saidur Rahman in the chair.
Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation Chairman Professor Dr Qazi Kholiquzzaman, Professor Dr Abdus Samad, Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra artist Bulbul Moholanabish and UNESCO Country Director Biyetris Khaldun addressed the seminar.
AL Advisory Council Member Mozaffar Hossain Paltu, Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Managing Director and Chief Editor Abul Kalam Azad, AL Cultural Affairs Secretary Ashim Kumar Ukil, Forests and Environment Secretary Delowar Hossain, Education Secretary Shamsun Nahar Chapa and Central Committee Executive Member Marufa Akthar Popi, among others, were present in the seminar while AL Information and Research Secretary Advocate Afzal Hossain conducted it.
Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said the family of Bangabandhu is a role model in the world in regards to honesty, skill and merit.
"Our Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina, is a globally recognized honest, skilled and qualified politician," he added.
He urged all, including AL leaders and workers, to learn from the family members of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Quader said the people of the country have confidence on the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
About the Rangpur City Corporation election, the AL general secretary said the government will provide all-out cooperation to the Election Commission (EC) to hold free, fare and transparent polls in Rangpur.
