6 held in Barisal for question leak

Barisal Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) police have arrested six students, including three DU students, from Barisal city for their alleged involved in question paper leaks in several admission tests. Police also recovered five jammer killer electromagnetic Bluetooth inductions (ear phone), five ATM card electronic devices, 11 mobile phones and two extra SIMs from them. Police said five of the students had come to Barisal from Dhaka on November 23 to leak questions of the ‘Ka’ unit admission test of Barisal University scheduled for today. Acting on a tip-off, a nine-member team of the Barisal metro DB police conducted an operation at Arshed Ali Master Road in Barisal city from last midnight. After getting confirmation from sources, police raided the house, ‘Nahar Mansion’, on the same road at 7am this morning and caught the six students red-handed.

The arrested have been identified as 3rd Year student of the Geomorphology Department of Dhaka University Md. Maruf Hossain Maruf, who was also wanted by Dhaka CID in a question-leak case, 4th Year student of Soil, Water and Environment Department of Dhaka University and member of BCL central committee Md Alamgir Hosen Shahin, 3rdYear student of Mathematics Department of Dhaka University Md Mahmudul Hasan Abid, 3rd Year student of Social Science Department of Barisal University (BU) Mueidur Rahman Baki, BBA 3rd Year student of Dhaka Mohammadopur Degree College Md Rakib Akan and 3rd Year student of the Golachipa Degree College Md Sabbir Ahmed Pritom. SM Ruhul Amin, BMP Commissioner, revealed the development at a press conference yesterday and said Mueibur Rahman, a student of BU, coordinated the crime. He said the arrested students were involved in similar crimes in different parts of the country for a considerable period of time.

This group also leaked the questions of the ‘Ka’ unit of Dhaka University. Police filed a case in this connection with the Barisal Kotwali Model Police Station against the arrested six.
