BNP leader hacked to death

A local BNP leader was hacked to death by some unidentified criminals in Bauphal upazila of the district on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Shamim Hossain, 45, son of Altaf Master, hailing from Kamalapur village. Shamim was a joint convener of Keshabpur union BNP unit.
SM Masuduzzaman, officer-in-charge of Bauphal Police Station, said a group of unidentified miscreants indiscriminately hacked Shamim on a bridge adjacent to Choumohoni Bazar, leaving him injured.
Being informed by locals, police rushed to the spot and sent injured Shamim to Bauphal Hospital where on-duty doctors declared him dead.
