Professor Joytish Barua, former teacher of Pali Department of Chittagong University, died of old-age complications in the early hours of Saturday at his Betari Goli residence in Kotwali of Chittagong. He was 71, family sources said. Professor Barua left behind his wife, a son and three daughters, a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death. He joined the department in 1978 and retired in 2012, Founder Chairman of the Pali Department Professor Dr Dipankar Srijnan Barua told BSS yesterday.
