Rakib Hossain of Bangladesh made a room in the boys’ singles final of the Bengal Plastics Asian Under-14 Series Tennis Tournament. Rakib beat his compatriot Emon Islam 7-5, 2-6, 7-6 in the semifinal at the National Tennis Complex in the capital yesterday. Rakib will now take on Maxwell Heward of Hong Kong in the final tomorrow. Heward eliminated Ronjit Sarkar of Bangladesh 6-2, 6-2 in the other semifinal. Meanwhile, the girls’ singles final will take place at 3pm today, while the boys doubles final will be played on the day earlier in the morning at 10am. State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam will distribute prizes after the girls’ singles final.
