The momentum they got from the last two phases they will attempt their best to maintain it in the third phase in Chittagong, said Comilla Victorians icon-turned-captain Tamim Iqbal. One-time BPL champion Comilla dominated the points table with 10 points, one adrift of Dhaka Dynamites and Khulna Titans. They played six matches so far, where in they conceded only one loss that they did to Sylhet Sixers in the first phase. “It deems to me that those, who will break into the last four, will fully depend on the result of the next matches of the Chittagong phase. Almost half of the BPL games have been finished to date,” said Tamim Iqbal.
“The current state on the points table might be changed. It will rely on the match results. Those who are on the top, they will be stayed at comfort zone because they did well in the first half of the BPL. And if we say about our team, we will then say that we have played very well,” he said.
“We want to maintain the momentum. In this way, we want to move forward. It’s a cricket, where any thing can be happened. And we don’t want to lose the momentum what we gained so far. The match by match approach we are playing we want to move ahead in that way,” he added.
The left-handed opener said that they should have played well what they played so far in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
“As a Bangladeshi player, we should have played well what we have played. In this regard, the five foreign players comes to the point because the local players didn’t get chance to bat in top-order. As a result, they had to bat in lower-order,” the stroke-maker said.
“But I didn’t want to see it as excuse because I think those who are playing they should do more than that. There is nothing to be delighted what the local players performed,” he also said.
“But the way they started they are improving better than that. Hopefully the local players will showcase their match-winning performance in the rest of the BPL matches,” he added
Tamim tipped himself luckiest person as he is not being played against Chittagong Vikings. But he thinks that the people of the Chittagong will support him in whatever team he plays for.
