Another three fake admission seekers were detained yesterday for their alleged involvement with forgery at the admission of Jahangirnagar University (JU) under academic session 2017-18. The detainees are identified as Oli Ahmed of Rajshai, Rashidul Hasan Rajon and Himadri Saha of Netrokona. They came to admit in different departments under Arts and Humanities faculties. Among them, Oli Ahmed secured 21 positions, Rajon secured 76 positions and Himadri secured 33 positions in the C unit test, proctor office source said. Prof Mozammal Haque, dean of Arts and Humanities faculty said, ‘We traced them as their handwriting and photo didn’t match with the written examination paper of the intake test and sent them to the proctor office for further interrogation’. JU Proctor Professor Tapan Kumar Saha said, ‘After primary interrogation, we confirmed that they all were secured the merit positions by using proxies, they also confessed about their involvement and we handed them over to Ashulia police.’
A case was filed with the Ashulia Police Station in this connection.
Earlier, 12 fake examinees were held for the same allegation in last three consecutive days.
