Mobile phone operator Robi has posted 4 per cent revenue growth in the third quarter (Q3) this year on the back of sustained investment, the company said in a press statement yesterday. The mobile-phone operator in a statement said the revenue rose to Tk 17.5 billion in July-September period.
Robi successfully added 1.6 million new subscribers in Q3 of 201 to reach 41.2 million subscribers mark, representing 29.3 per cent of the industry’s subscriber market-share.
The mobile phone operator, however, witnessed net loss of Tk 469 million in Q3 and YTD cumulative loss now stand at 1.5 billion, mainly for merger integration cost and investment to improve quality of the network.
Robi continued investing aggressively to fast-track its 3.5G network expansion and improving 2.5G network quality for better customer experience both in voice and data services.
Total CAPEX investment made by Robi since inception amounted to Tk 195.5 billion inclusive of Tk 3.4 billion CAPEX investment in the third quarter of 2017.
