Stocks ended the week yesterday upward with rising trend of major indices at Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges on higher transactions, reports BSS. The daily average trade value at DSE was 6.2 per cent up at Tk 994.75 crore and the trade volume was 13.9 per cent up at 27.77 crore shares.
The broader DSEX of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the week with 40.42 points higher at 6,322.51. The Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 18.01 points up at 1393.46. But the blue-chip DS30 ended marginally 2.29 points down at 2,277.36. Out of the 336 issues traded on DSE, 210 gained against 112 losing issues.
The top five gainers of the week were AB Bank, Shyampur Sugar, ICB Islamic Bank, ECABLES and Jute Spinning. The major losing issues of the week were Saif Power, OIMEX, Deshbandhu, Aamra Net and ICBAMCL2ND.
The top five turnover leaders were
Lanka Bangla Finance, AB Bank, Dhaka Bank, Shahjalal Bank and Square
Pharma.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed the week up, with its major CASPI index ending 123.83 points higher at 19,569.42. Like DSE, most of the issues traded here closed higher when both the trade value and volume of shares increased.
